DNA Deadend
Breeding animals without consideration of possible damage to the genetic information has a long history. In replicating data repeatedly it begins to lack information; in editing digital photography the equivalent would be a lossy image compression. Three popular dog breeds with common health issues are portrayed in three videos. The photos in DNA Deadend were reproduced hundreds of times and thereby subjected to the damage and erosion of information through the iterative compression process.
